Stratégie Modèle Mental

What if changing mental models helped find solutionsto the issues companies face?

In order not to be left behind nor to exist in a world which works against them, companies must consider their capacity to update mental models as one of their key objectives in order to keep having a constant and effective representation of reality.

In this book, Philippe Silberzahn and Béatrice Rousset present mental models as one of the key strategies for organisations to be able to go through successful transformations. Mental models which are representations of the reality by an organisation and its employees have been left aside by managers for too long. However, according to the authors, the ability of organisations to update their mental models is exactly what needs to become a key objective in their strategy. It also is a condition to their action.

This book was written after intensive research, based on the experience of its authors alongside company leaders. It features several examples and it shows how both individual and collective mental models can be the reason why organisations are stuck but also the solution thanks to which they can start moving forward again. It describes new mental models, inspired by entrepreneurs, and lays the ground for a new approach for managers. In this approach, working on mental models is a key point of strategy.

Stratégie Modèle Mental (Mental Model Strategy) is a book for those who want to prepare their organisation to benefit from the changing world they work in: leaders, transformation managers, heads of HR… But it can be interesting for others too: employees, consultants, civil servants…
